1) This was an ethics violation by the officer because there are many other things she could’ve done before shooting and killing the victim. 2) I feel like the officer should be terminated because she took and innocent mans life for what was her own mistake by walking into the wrong apartment seemingly without any other method than shooting him. 3) I don’t know how you prevent this because it just seems like a simple mistake but turned out to be fatal.

1) I believe it wasn't a violation of ethics to her knowledge it was a man who had broken into her home and confronted her.

1 I feel like she violated her ethics because she could of listen to then man and reason with him before shooting them.2 I think she should be terminated for making such a mistake, if you kill an innocent man all because u thought he was in ur apparnent ( even though it wasn’t even her house) to prevent this in the future do more weapon practice and eithics training

1. I believe it was against the code of ethics because there were several other things that she could have done before firing her weapon at this man. 2. I think that the police department in dallas should terminate this officer because she wasn’t in her own home when she shot him. 3. They should use this incident as an example when they are training new officers.

1. I don’t think we can actually determine if it was ethics violation by the officer or not because we don’t really know what went down while she was in the department but what I do think she should have done before shooting was double checking if she was in the right department.

1) I believe it was an ethics violation because the man didn’t have a weapon and I believe the officer could’ve used a less lethal weapon.

1) I believe this was an ethics violation because instead of drawing and shooting she could have chose to calmly talk to the “intruder” in her apartment, by doing that she could’ve found out that she was in the wrong apartment and the victim was the one who lived there.

1 these was ethical because she could of talked to the guy in that apartment and check if it was her apartment 2 even though it was an accident she should be punished by several years cause she took another guy life in his own apartment 3 the way the police department should prevent from happening is they should not stress the officer and give them less hours cause the officer was probably under alot of street and tired so she went into the wrong apartment because of street and tiredness

1. No this was not an ethical decision because there were other ways she could have handled the situation. 2. She should be punished by being fired by the police department and even changed with murder. 3. The police department can start preventing these types of accidents by have the officers leave there duty weapon at the police department.

1.) Yes, this was a major ethic violation because even though she mistakenly went into the apartment she went into someone else’s home and killed him.

1) I believe that this is an ethics violation because the officer could’ve done something other than taking the persons life. 2) Even though the officer “didn’t know” that was not her apartment, she should still be penalized to unpaid suspention, she took a innocent males life. 3) I feel as if the police department can’t really do anything except enforce ethical questions and practices that help the officers “think before do”. The officer wasn’t on duty anymore and simply was just tired, the police department can’t really control that.

1.this was a ethics vialation because she could of talked to the man or just of tased him instead of shooting him 2. She should be on unpaid suspension because after a full shift and being tired lot of people could of done the same thing 3. The could have officers that are still on duty drive them to there house or have one of them call the persons family or freind to pick them up

I believe that in a way she did and didn’t violate the code of ethics because of course you would react in such a way if there was a stranger in your apartment, but at the same time it wasn’t her apartment so she did violate the code of ethics. I think her rights to be an officer has to be taken away because of what she did , she should even get some other type of punishment for taking an innocent life , it was really her fault for getting in the wrong apartment. But I think police departments can’t really do nothing about this but go over on how to rise from hand to hand combat to getting a firearm out and fire. The police officer was “tired” , they should work on staying engaged and focused after every shift because of this incident that has occurred.

1. This definitely was an ethical violation because the officer pulled out her gun right away without thinking and shot the man. She didn't try to talk to him or question him or even look around. 2. She should be penalized but not to the point of being fired. I would suggest suspension or something similar. 3. The police can't really do anything to prevent this because it was an honest mistake however somebody should tell her to look around and use words before going for the gun.

In my opinion this of course is a ethical violation because the officer completely reacted without thinking but my question is how did she enter the wrong apartment if she does not have the key to it. She shot an innocent man due to her misunderstanding and she should be suspended and or punished for her very bad wrong doing. An officer needs to know how to react and not just shoot, she should have been trained already to know that not thinking will affect someone’s life, I hope she knows now that she should not act in such an unprofessional way in taking an innocent man. I really don’t think it was an understanding but she should have thought more than just reacting with a bullet to a mans innocent body.

1) I believe that this incedent was a ethics violation because she should have been cautious and not have pulled the trigger on that firearm.2)I believe that the officer involved in the incedent should be on a type of probation and she shouldn’t work for a period of time and make her process what she was done.3)the police departments should encourage the officers to be more cautious in a event like that not minding that if it was a life or death situation that obviously something had to happen , but in situations like the one that occurred the officers should be taught to be more cautious.

1. Yes, l believe this was a violation of ethics because although we don’t know how she got into the victims room, she could’ve gone through some procedures she learned at work instead of going right ahead and shooting the victim. 2. I believe that the officer should be terminated for not only taking an innocent mans life, but for not even trying to communicate to the victim. 3. What departments should do to prevent this is have the officers, when they get off work, leave their guns and any other weapons at work.

This was an ethic violation because she could’ve done something different to prevent what happened. I believe the officer should be penalized cause we never know what might have happened to the victim and the officer. The police department should be showing that killing people should not be the first choice into any type of violence

1) The office definitely made an ethical mistake, the man shouldn’t have died. She didn’t use the force continuum correctly. 2) The officer should be terminated immediately due to her mistakes that cost a life. 3) I think the shifts should be shortened so the mind and decision making capabilities of the officer isn’t tainted.
