I was working a soccer game with two other officials and the coach of one team did not like a call that the center ref made against his team and yelled and complained. The coach did not have the right or authority to complain and to do so in the manner of yelling fiercely and should have acted calmly. As the officials of the game we acted appropriately and respectfully to him being professional. We explained after the game to him that there is nothing to argue about and that there was nothing we could do after the call was made.

Cade, I agree with you that yelling at an official is unprofessional. I think that you as well as the other officials responded appropriately by calming explaining to him that there was nothing you could do after the call!

It is in fact very unprofessional for a coach to yell at an official. Maybe he should've sat down and taken a breathe and thought about it instead of yelling.

Actions are a good quality to notice professionalism. The actions of the coach were poor but the ref did right and showed good professionalism.

In the last two months a place that I have observed both poor and exceptional professionalism is at Cigna. My mom works there and a couple weeks ago I had to take her to work before I went to school and there were many people that were dressed in business like clothes going into work and then there were people who were walking in with sweatpants and a t-shirt on. People that were dressed up looked professional and ready for the day while the people who were in sweatpants looked like they didn't want to be at work and just wanted to go home.

Heather, i believe that the people who were dressed professional and like they are ready for the day are those that are most successful probably and the others were people who probably, as you said, didn't want to be there.

Good attire is always a good representation of good or poor professionalism. Even if they don't speak, lots is said with there clothes.

It's true that how you dress can impact people's thoughts about you. Those who dressed for the job they had and looked professional were a good example of good behavior.

Within the last two months I have observed poor and exceptional professionalism at many places, one being at a little league basketball game. There were coaches there that were dressed in a suit and looked very professional, then there were other coaches who were just in a t-shirt and jeans, they didn't look so professional but in fact like they were just there to be there.

J'Tajia, profesionalism is a feature that will follow us for a lifetime. We have to make the connection on whether or not we want to participate in that professionalism or not.

I was working while a tournament was taking place at Stone Creek Golf Course. While we still had players on the course I was trying to get stuff put up and our manager had said something to me and I did not hear a word he said, which displays poor professionalism since a lot of people were around and it made me look bad as well as the manager. A good professionalism technique was later that day everyone had left and I went to the range to pick baskets, when a little girl came up to me and ask me a question in which I helped her and her mother came to me later and said thank you, which displayed professionalism.

A place where there has been good professionalism was during a baseball game. There are always sings with the pitcher and the catcher. Maybe its to see how fast the ball should be thrown or maybe to see which type a ball to throw. I am sure that type of communication works great because they had a perfect game. At my previous job there was poor professionalism. most of the managers didn't care what you were doing. Some don't care how trashy the area looked.

Personally I havent gone anywhere that would alliw me to witness any of these behaviors but a good example would be hiw a person works. A hard worker would sgow good quality and admiration while someone that's slacking off would not show any of these qualities. How you work and appear can have a large effect on yiur work career.
